Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna Collaborate on New Music Single

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna are joining forces for a highly anticipated new single. The two artists have previously worked together on the 2017 track “LOYALTY,” and after Kendrick’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 9, 2025, they plan to hit the studio for this exciting collaboration. According to insiders, the track has been in the works for a while and promises to be both sonically ambitious and lyrically powerful, reflecting the growth of both artists as musical and cultural icons.

The collaboration marks Rihanna’s return to the music industry after a long hiatus since her 2016 album Anti. A source close to the project shared with the Sunday Mirror newspaper that the single would be a major milestone for the pop star as she steps back into the spotlight.

Kendrick Lamar, who will make history as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, is expected to be joined by special guests, with only SZA confirmed so far. The 37-year-old rapper teased the news of his performance and the collaboration with SZA in a promotional video shared on Instagram last month. In the clip, Kendrick is seen on a football field when SZA surprises him by dousing him with a bucket of blue liquid. The video, captioned “Catch @kendricklamar with guest @sza. #AppleMusicHalftime #SBLIX,” further fueled excitement for the show.

Following the Super Bowl, Kendrick Lamar and SZA are set to hit the road together for their 2025 Grand National Tour, which will begin on April 19 in Minnesota. The tour will visit cities including Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Detroit, and Los Angeles before wrapping up in Washington, D.C. on June 18.

The two artists have previously teamed up on several successful collaborations, including 2017’s “Doves in the Wind,” 2018’s “All the Stars,” and more recently, “30 For 30” from SZA’s SOS reissue. They also contributed to tracks on Lamar’s latest album GNX.

SZA, whose real name is Solána Rowe, has expressed how much she learns from working with Kendrick, calling him a “genius” and mentioning her excitement at the possibility of creating a full album with him. On a recent appearance on Sherri (January 8, 2025), she stated, “I would love that. I think that would be amazing. He’s such a genius. And a part of his genius is like him being so elusive and so mysterious, and I love it.”

As for GNX, SZA was unsure which tracks her vocals would be featured on, but she was pleased with the final results. Fans are eagerly awaiting the new music from this powerhouse duo.
