Kendrick Lamar Records Title Song for Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World

Kendrick Lamar has reportedly penned and recorded the title song for Marvel’s upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World, set for release on Friday, February 14, 2025. Anthony Mackie, who stars as the new Captain America, revealed the exciting news during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, inadvertently letting the cat out of the bag.

“Kendrick did the title song for my movie,” Mackie shared. “Hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise! I’m breaking it here first. I’m so excited, man. The beauty and mastery of his craft…”

This isn’t Lamar’s first collaboration with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2018, he curated and contributed to the Black Panther soundtrack, which included his tracks All The Stars featuring SZA and Pray For Me with The Weeknd.

The new song for Captain America: Brave New World marks Lamar’s first major release since his 2024 album GNX. Fans of the rapper can also look forward to more live performances from Lamar and SZA, as they recently announced additional dates for their joint ‘Grand National Tour,’ which will visit cities across the UK and Europe this summer.

The UK leg of the tour will kick off on July 8 at Hampden Park in Glasgow and will wrap up on July 22 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. European stops include Cologne, Stockholm, Paris, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Rome, Lisbon, and Barcelona.

Lamar’s last UK appearance was in 2022, while SZA headlined Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park in 2024. The two artists have frequently collaborated over the years, including on tracks like Doves in the Wind (2017) and 30 For 30 (2024), further cementing their musical partnership.

SZA, whose real name is Solána Rowe, has expressed her admiration for Kendrick’s artistic genius. During a January interview on Sherri, she revealed, “I would love [to work with him on a full record]. I think that would be amazing. He’s such a genius. And a part of his genius is him being so elusive and so mysterious, and I love it.”
